WEST PALM BEACH — Authorities have released the name of a Royal Palm Beach man who died after a crashing his car into another Sunday evening on Forest Hill Boulevard in suburban West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s officials report.
Investigators say Jose D. Sanchez, 35, was exiting Casa Del Monte and attempting to turn west onto Forest Hill Boulevard about 6:34 p.m. on Sunday.
But Sanchez missed the roadway and instead his Nissan struck the median curb repeatedly, finally mounting the median and then crossing into oncoming traffic and hitting an eastbound car, according to statement released by the sheriff’s office.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews extricated Sanchez from his car and flew him to Delray Medical Center where he died from his injuries, according to the statement.
The driver in the other vehicle, 55-year-old Kathleen Richmond of West Palm Beach, was also taken to the hospital in serious condition. Further information about Richmond’s condition was not immediately available.
Sheriff’s investigators suspect Sanchez had been drinking alcohol, the statement said.
