Six months to the day after a teenager was killed in a fatal crash in Palm Beach Gardens, prosecutors have filed charges against the driver.
Sabrina Fiorentino, 20, was charged with DUI manslaughter in connection with the September crash that claimed the life of her 19-year-old best friend, Bryanna Sanville, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide investigators said Fiorentino had been drinking from a bottle of vodka and smoked marijuana before the crash.
Investigators said her car was struck by a sport utility vehicle as Fiorentino tried to make a U-turn.
Sanville, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
Fiorentino was released from jail Thursday on $5,000 bond. As part of her conditions for bond, she won’t be allowed to drive, drink or even go to an establishment that serves alcohol.
