An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a crash in Orlando Wednesday night.
The accident happened at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Orange Avenue.
The female deputy was transported to the hospital. Her injuries are reported to be non life-threatening.
The deputy was her way to a call when she was hit by a pickup truck, according to investigators.
Investigators said they didn’t know if she had her emergency lights and siren on.
The driver of the pickup truck was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
The truck’s driver wasn’t injured in the accident.
Lanes of eastbound Michigan Ave. and northbound Orange Ave. were closed while the crash was investigated.
The intersection was cleared by 11 p.m.
Orlando Police are investigating the accident, and the Sheriff’s office will investigate as well.
