JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A motorcyclist who was ejected in a single-vehicle crash was killed when a car ran him over.

Robert Flynn, 34, was riding his 2000 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on I-295 near Old St. Augustine Road at 11:20 p.m. Monday night.  Flynn was driving at a high rate of speed, according to a traffic crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Flynn, who was not wearing a helmet, lost control of the motorcycle, ejecting him into the center lane of the highway.

After the crash, 19-year-old Terri Hughes stopped her 2012 Honda in the left emergency lane to render aid to Flynn.

While Flynn was laying in the road, a 2002 Honda being driven by 21-year-old Kevin Hsu struck Flynn, the report said.

Hsu lost control of his car, causing it to sideswipe Hughes’ car, which was still stopped in the left emergency lane.

The force of the crash caused Hughes’ car to cross across all three lanes of northbound I-295 until it struck the guardrail in the right emergency lane.

Flynn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Neither of the other two drivers sustained injuries.

The FHP report said charges are pending further investigation.
