Pat Dean and the Fort Myers Miracle made it two in a row over the host Palm Beach Cardinals with a 6-1 win Saturday night.
Fresh off the disabled list, Dean allowed one run on three hits over five innings, and Ryan O’Rourke, Ricky Bowen and Michael Tonkin combined for four scoreless innings of relief for Fort Myers (25-30).
The Miracle grabbed an early lead on Lance Ray’s RBI single in the third. Ray then came around to score on a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0.
Leading 2-1 in the sixth, Fort Myers added an insurance run on Daniel Santana’s RBI single. The Miracle added some more breathing room with three runs in the eighth, including a solo home run by Santana.
The Miracle, who entered the series on a five-game losing streak, will go for the sweep at 5 p.m. Sunday.
