WEST PALM BEACH — A suburban West Palm Beach man was arrested on Sunday, a week after his ex-girlfriend accused him of smashing her home’s sliding door because he thought she was with another man.
Edwin Diddier Jaramillo, 33, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. He is facing criminal mischief and aggravated stalking charges.
Deputies caught up with Jaramillo on Sunday – more than a week after the ex-girlfriend called 911 to report that he had just smashed the glass sliding door of her master bedroom, according to the arrest report.
The 36-year-old woman, whose name withheld in the report, said Jaramillo called her at 5:21 a.m. on April 21 to ask her who she was with. The woman, who has a child by Jaramillo, said she ignored him and didn’t answer his question.
She said that she then heard a “loud noise” coming from the sliding door of her master bedroom when Jaramillo demanded to know again who was with her. When she didn’t answer, she heard a “loud crash” and saw something smashing through the glass door.
The investigators did hear Jaramillo speaking with the woman on the phone, saying that he was upset with her because he thought she had a new boyfriend in the bedroom with her when he smashed the sliding door.
