Wellington woman accused of hit-and-run DUI – Sun

A Wellington woman driving at almost double the legal blood-alcohol limit plowed down a person and kept driving, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Authorities found Jennifer Sorgie’s black Dodge SUV with “extensive front end damage” and a blown front driver’s-side tire in a 7-Eleven parking lot in unincorporated West Palm Beach.

Sorgie, 40, was still sitting in the driver’s seat with the engine running.

Deputies in Lake Worth connected the SUV to a pedestrian hit-and-run crash with serious injuries earlier that night.

Sorgie told the deputy she drank about three glasses of wine at Igot’s Bar in Lake Worth, then had more drinks at another restaurant. She said she remembers hitting a vehicle but not a person and couldn’t explain why she left the scene, according to the report.

Deputies recorded her blood-alcohol level at nearly .16 and .15. The legal limit is .08. She faces DUI and hit-and-run charges and was booked and released from jail after posting $9,000 bail on Friday.
