Male struck by car in Palm Beach Gardens; lanes reopen on Northlake Boulevard

One person is in critical condition after a crash that temporarily shut down part of Northlake Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue said.

The crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday night at Northlake Boulevard and North Military Trail. Lanes on Northlake were closed between Keating Drive and Military Trail, city police said. As of of 9 p.m., the roadway was clear, a police dispatcher said.

The injured person was struck by a passing vehicle while walking across the street, said EMS Chief Keith Bryer, Fire Rescue spokesman.

The injured person was a young male, but rescue officials weren’t immediately able to confirm the person’s age.

Emergency response crews immediately rushed the injured person to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Byer said.

City police are investigating, but no other details were immediately available, a police spokeswoman said.
