BSO said Kaufman does not have a valid driver’s license and is not the registered owner of the vehicle, which had evidence consistent with a pedestrian crash.

Kaufman is being held on outstanding warrants out of Palm Beach County while the BSO Traffic Homicide Unit continues its investigation, said the Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, a Tamarac resident who has not been identified, was hit around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies said.
