Woman, 68, seriously hurt in Boynton Beach hit-run – Sun

Police in Boynton Beach are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 68-year-old woman seriously hurt, officials said.

The incident happened about 6:15 p.m. Monday as the woman was crossing West Boynton Beach Boulevard just west of Old Boynton Road, police said.

Witnesses told investigators the woman was not in the crosswalk when she was struck by a silver SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, as the vehicle was making a left turn onto West Boynton Beach Boulevard from Northwest 8th Street.

The identity of the woman who was struck has not been released. She was taken to Delray Medical Center in serious condition, according to police.
