Person had to be cut from SUV after crashing into semi in Delray Beach

One person was taken to a local hospital over the weekend after a wreck on Interstate 95 in Delray Beach.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue crews were called around 3:40 a.m. Sunday to just south of Woolbright Road in response to the wreck.

An SUV crashed into the back of a semi-tractor trailer, according to fire rescue. The SUV was wedged under the back of the semi.

Two men were in the SUV; while the SUV the driver was able to get out, the passenger had to be cut from the truck.

Crews worked for 40 minutes trying to get the passenger out of the SUV. He was taken to Delray Medical Center under a trauma alert.
