Erie police are looking for a dark-colored vehicle that was reportedly involved in a traffic accident that damaged a parked car and a house on the city’s west side Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at West Fourth and Poplar streets. Police said a woman was driving a maroon Ford Windstar north on Poplar Street when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle as she drove across West Fourth Street after first stopping at the intersection. The minivan accelerated north and struck a black Dodge Avenger that was parked on the west side of Poplar Street before the minivan climbed a small hill and hit the side porch of a house on the northwest corner of West Fourth and Poplar streets.
People inside the house said they were awakened by the crash but were not injured.
The woman driving the minivan, whose name was not released, was taken by EmergyCare to UPMC Hamot. The other vehicle was not at the accident scene when Erie police and firefighters arrived.
Anyone with information should call Erie police Sgt. Jeff Annunziata at 870-1419.
