A Lower Gwynedd couple vacationing in Florida were both killed after their jet ski slammed into a tour boat in Clearwater, Fla., around 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, according to a report on the Daily Mail Online.

The article identified the couple as Ramana Gadiraju, 50, and Shubhada Kulkarni, 49.

The Tampa Bay Times reported Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators worked Sunday to try to figure out what led to the fatal crash. No determination of fault has been made, according to the report.

Tropics Boats, the company that operates the tour boat involved in the fatal accident, issued the following statement on its Facebook page Sunday:

“The Tropics Boat Tours extends our heart felt thoughts and prayers to all the family members, passengers and crew affected by the tragic accident that occurred yesterday. We have cancelled our cruises today and plan to assume regular operation on Monday.”
