Palm Beach County’s emergency Trauma Hawk helicopters were both dispatched to the western communities of Loxahatchee and Royal Palm Beach within minutes of each other this afternoon for serious injuries that sent two people to trauma centers and two others by land to local hospitals.
The first call was a traumatic injury in the 17000 block of 61st Place North in Loxahatchee around 2:20 p.m. Details about the nature of the injury were not immediately available, but Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Albert Borroto said the man’s injury warranted a flight to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
Five minutes later, the second Trauma Hawk was dispatched to a crash at Royal Palm Beach Boulevard and 57th Road North in The Acreage, Borroto said.
Trauma Hawk helicopter flew the woman with the most serious injuries to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The other two people with injuries were taken to Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee.
