For 50 Cent, air bags don’t cut it when it comes to on the road safety.
Though the G-Unit rapper (nee Curtis Jackson) was involved in a potentially serious accident Tuesday, he suffured only minor neck and back injuries. The rapper credits his bulletproof SUV for that.
“We spun off into the rail. We would’ve flipped if it was a regular truck, but the truck weighs over a ton because it has additional stuff in it,” 50 Cent told MTV.
The accident occurred on the Long Island Expressway, when the driver of the Mack truck lost control and rear-ended the rapper’s SUV.
50 Cent, who has sported bulletproof vehicles since being shot nine times in 2000, said the beast of an SUV fared better in the accident than the Mack truck.
“It did more damage to the Mack truck than it did to my truck, ’cause I got a level six; it’s a bulletproof vehicle,” he said. “It’s the same standard as what they’re moving Obama around in.”
As for speculation the accident was orchestrated to promote his fifth studio album, whichi is slated to hits stores July 3? Not true, he insisted.
“Trust me, I have enough money to not hit myself with a Mack truck to try to get a few dollars,” the rapper said.
In addition to preparing for the release of his new album, the rapper recently appeared on MTV’s Jersey Shore spinoff The Pauly D Project, in which star Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio signed to his G-Note Records label.
